Spanky and Amy Assiter
Spanky Assister and his wife Amy, along with their team, will return in 2018 for his fourth “For Love of Country Annual Gala.” His commitment to our gala is tied to his own deeply patriotic spirit. After years of serving as the “celebrity” auctioneer at the Barrett Jackson automobile auctions, Spanky has turned his talent into a passion for supporting several causes around the country. His energy and fast pace makes the auction part of the evening entertainment. You can’t help but raise your paddle!
Spanky Assiter is one of the most dynamic and sought after auctioneers in the world and with this auction for Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, he will have served as auctioneer in all 50 states. Awarded the 1991 International Champion Auctioneer at the National Auctioneer Convention and 2005 title of World Champion Auto Auctioneer, Spanky became the youngest inductee into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2007. He has held court ever since at Barrett Jackson’s Collector Car Auction, billed as the greatest collector car auction in the world. Whether auctioning antiques at the Red Baron’s Antiques Auctions or horses at the Keeneland Thoroughbred Racing Association, Spanky has distinguished himself as the outstanding expert in the rare field of auctioneering. In addition he has traveled the globe as a lecturer and motivational speaker.
Amy Assiter has also taken the auction industry by storm. In 2000 Amy won the industry's most coveted title, International Auctioneer Champion, (IAC) Women's Division. During her reign as the IAC, she served as the Goodwill Ambassador for the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). This responsibility included raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through benefit auctions, conducting educational and motivational seminars and workshops nationwide, and working with the media on behalf of the auction industry. Amy is a much sought after auctioneer conducting auctions for everything from autos and heavy equipment to bison and real estate. Her celebrity status, passion for veterans, and patriotism in addition to her inspiring rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” have her traveling almost as much as her auctioneering talents.
Between Spanky and Amy, the Assiter team has raised millions for non-profit organizations around the country. Please join us in thanking Spanky and Amy Assiter for donating their support to our event.
